Hero Core is an open world 2d action shooter game with retro graphics.
Plot[]
Cruiser Tetron is being rebuilt, it is up to Hero to travel to the asteroid where his minions are re-building him and attempt to stop him from ever returning again.
Gameplay[]
Hero Core picks up right after Hero. While the gameplay is similar Hero Core features new additions to weapons. The game is also no longer segmented by levels, the entire base can be explored at the player's leisure.
There are 10 different zones with a unique boss and upgrade for each one. A map can reveal save points, generators and warping is now a function for the player's convenience.
Tetron can also be challenged at any time however it is strongly recommended for new players to face the other bosses in order due to Hero powering up with every boss defeated.
The weapons were also expanded upon basic blaster the player starts off with. It can be upgraded upon defeating a boss. Another new weapon is the blade, it has short range but does incredible damage. Leveling it up allows it to cut through more objects.

Rock Smasher | 256 | Moving inside starts the battle. The player must fire left and right while moving in timing with the boss to avoid contact damage
Silencer | 32 | A boss spawner. Its barrier regenerates protecting the core.
Plasma Hydra | 96 | Each head fires a different projectile. Destroying one spawns another, just keep taking them out as it does have a finite number of them
Reaper Drone | 64 | I can drone on about this drone spawning more drones so they can drone about droning but this drone just drones on about spawning more drones to make contact with the player
Liquid Metal Processor | 128 | Destroy the Lurks to make your way into its cores and take them out one after another. Be sure to keep an eye on its spheres as it does regenerate and will damage Hero on contact
Grand Mother | 64 | Spawner that spawns mothers that spawns spawners that spawn...
Guardian | 192 | A good fight! The guardian will alert Soldiers to join the battle after a set amount of damage is done. Hunters will eventually be called in. Do enough damage to its core in its center to force it to transform
Star Splitter | 256 | Destroy its swinging cores and keep an eye on the bouncing projectiles
Elite | 128 | The exact same machine as Hero, it has no set pattern so stay alert, shoot and dodge.
Eliminator | 64 | Randomly spawns in by chance. If your level is too high then it will stick around and relentlessly attack until one of you are dead.
Cruiser Tetron | 256 | He's back, he's tougher and he's not here to play games.
Living Warmachine | 256 | Only available to face in the end of Annihilation mode. It is a reference from Iji about a Komato that had gone bersrk aboard the Ciretako ship. |
